Innovative accountancy firm Thorne Widgery has been named Mid-Size Firm of the Year and winner of the prestigious Total Xero Award at the Xero Awards United Kingdom & Ireland 2025.
This is the third year running that the firm was shortlisted at these awards and the second time in its history to win these national accolades.
The Xero Awards are one of the most important events in the accountancy profession’s calendar, recognising the firms and individuals leading the way in innovation, client service, and digital transformation.
Winning the Total Xero Award for a second time is a significant achievement and reflects Thorne Widgery’s deep commitment to embedding Xero at the heart of its practice.
Judges were once again impressed by the development of the firm’s pioneering XfE platform, which harnesses Xero’s capabilities to provide tailored financial management solutions for schools, colleges, and academies.
The Mid-Size Firm of the Year award highlights the dedication of the Thorne Widgery team and the outstanding work delivered for clients across a wide range of sectors.
Judges praised the firm’s innovation, its community impact, and its determination to continually raise standards in digital accounting.

The awards were presented at a glamorous ceremony hosted by Xero in London, which saw Thorne Widgery rubbing shoulders with some of the industry’s top leaders.
