How we support charities and not for profit organisations

Whether you require an independent examination or a full audit, as charities and not for profit accountants we can provide you with the level of support you need. We already assist a wide range of not-for-profits, from very small charities through to large organisations with multi-million-pound incomes.

We offer a proactive, collaborative approach, helping trustees and board members to get it right, rather than point out retrospectively where they’ve gone wrong!

We also understand that running a charity is very much like running a business and a lot of our charity clients appreciate the experience and proactivity we bring from our experiences in the commercial sector.

Here’s what our third sector clients have to say about us…

“I joined my current employer in November 2021 and met up with Thorne Widgery, our nominated auditors and accountants, soon after. The finance situation needed some resolving and fixing when I arrived and Thorne Widgery were excellent in supporting me in getting the systems to the place they are now. They are swift to respond, thoughtful in their advice, approachable and hugely professional. I would highly recommend them and will continue to use them for the foreseeable future. Their service is exemplary.”

Sarah Zacharek

“Thorne Widgery has given exceptional support to St. Michaels’s Hospice Finance Department. The team not only developed and manage internal processes to ensure continuity and high standards within the department, but has contributed greatly to further developing controls, reports and the chart of accounts. TW are actively involved in our audit process, the day to day management of accounts and are running the payroll.”TW are a diligent, helpful and professional team and have supported the Board of Trustees and Senior Management in addition to encouraging junior members of staff during a difficult period. The team have also engaged hugely with other departments, participating actively in wider elements of hospice life. It’s a pleasure to work with such professionals.”
