This year marks a significant milestone for Thorne Widgery as we celebrate our 80th anniversary.
While we are rightly proud of our long history, this milestone is not just about looking backwards.
It is about recognising how far we have come while staying firmly focused on the future and on helping our clients succeed in an ever-changing business landscape.
Built on experience, driven by the future
Founded eight decades ago, Thorne Widgery has grown to become the largest firm of accountants in Herefordshire and Shropshire.
Considering we just started out with a single office in Hereford with a few staff, we have already come a long way.
During this time, we have proudly supported generations of businesses, from ambitious start-ups to established companies, through periods of growth, challenge and transformation.
Our success has never come from standing still. We have always embraced technology and use it to transform the way accountancy supports businesses.
In fact, we were one of the very first practices in Hereford to invest in computers in the very early days of this technology.
That approach has been recognised through multiple awards, including being named winner of the prestigious Total Xero Award at the Xero Awards.
We are now amongst one of the most innovative firms in the UK and are regularly called upon to test new solutions for some of the leading accounting technology platforms – as well as developing our own suite of software.
