Thorne Widgery to demonstrate national award-winning accountancy software at Academies Show 2018

The innovative accountancy firm behind X for Education, Thorne Widgery, has confirmed that it will once again be assisting school leaders at this year’s Academies Show in Birmingham.

Having recently been named the winners of the Xero Small Practice Innovation of the Year category at the prestigious British Accountancy Awards 2018, Thorne Widgery is hoping to share the success of the system with even more schools at this year’s event, which is due to be held on 21 November at the NEC.

Already in use by other accountants and dozens of schools across the UK, X for Education (XfE) is taking the sector by storm.

In the last year, the innovative solution has been shortlisted for a number of awards and has even led Thorne Widgery to become one of only a few preferred suppliers to the Catholic Diocese Academy schools.

This is now the third time that the Hereford-based firm has shown off its XfE services at the popular annual Academies show, having worked with one of the world’s most prominent online accounting providers, Xero, to create its unique XfE online accounting package.

Thorne Widgery’s unique cloud-based system provides schools with a modern and more efficient way to handle their accounts online, while still remaining compliant with the Education & Skills Funding Agency legislation.

At this years’ show, the firm intends to demonstrate its latest enhancements to its solution and celebrate its recent award win with the crowds.

Thorne Widgery’s Head of Xero and XfE, Sam King, said: “We continue to innovate and enhance XfE to ensure that it meets the changing needs and demands of academies. We can wait to show off our beautiful new developments to the crowds this year and gauge their response.

“The last 12 months have been an extremely busy time for our team of accountants and software developers, as they have worked together to create solutions that solve problems for schools.”

He said that the firm was extremely proud of its latest award win and was delighted to be working with more schools and other accountants to share the benefits of XfE.

“We can’t wait to meet with school leaders at the upcoming Academies Show to learn more about their needs and requirements for the year ahead and to show them the benefits of working with XfE to enhance their school’s financial position,” added Sam.
