One of Hereford and Ludlow’s leading firms of accountants, Thorne Widgery, has been selected as finalists for two categories at this year’s Accounting Excellence Awards.
Seen as one of the most prestigious awards in the industry, the firm was delighted to learn that not only had it been selected for the shortlist for Medium Firm of the Year, but that its CEO Daniel Crowther was also selected as a finalist again for the Practice Pioneer award, an award which he won last year.
The Accounting Excellence Awards see thousands of entries each year from accountancy firms across the UK. Organised by leading industry publication Accounting WEB, they recognise the very best practices and individuals, who are not only making a difference in the lives of their clients but who are also supporting the profession through innovation and growth.
Judges were impressed with Thorne Widgery, its work supporting businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic and its development of cloud-based systems that help businesses to grow and succeed.
The firm will find out whether it has won a coveted award at a ceremony due to be held in February 2021.
Daniel Crowther, who took home the only individual award in 2019 for his work at the firm, said: “It is a real honour to have the firm and I recognised at these awards. Considering the tough competition we faced, even obtaining a position as a finalist is a real achievement and I can’t thank our team enough for all that they have done to help us obtain this recognition.
“The last few months have been challenging for all firms, but we have continued to forge ahead to deliver new services and help local businesses in whatever way that we can.”
Thorne Widgery has a long history of award wins, having seen staff and the practice as a whole take home several titles in recent years.
