Thorne Widgery in the running for two accolades at National accountancy awards

Innovative accountancy firm, Thorne Widgery, has been named as a finalist in two categories at this year’s Accounting Excellence Awards.

The national accounting accolade recognises firms that are making a change to the profession and delivering exceptional client care. Staff and directors at the Hereford and Ludlow-based firm were delighted to learn that they had been shortlisted for the Innovative Firm of the Year and Practice Pioneer categories.

The Innovative Firm of the Year award celebrates those practices that have demonstrated how they have used technology and new approaches to deliver greater efficiencies and improved levels of service to their clients.

Meanwhile, the Practice Pioneer of the Year category has recognised Thorne Widgery’s Director, Daniel Crowther, for his exceptional work within the firm and his drive to improve accountancy services.

Daniel has also played an instrumental role in the launch of the firm’s Ludlow office and incorporation of new technologies, including the effective use of new media to attract clients.

He said: “To be shortlisted for one category at the Accounting Excellence Awards is incredible, but to be recognised twice is an awesome honour. While I am in the running for an individual award, both of these achievements wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and commitment of our team.

“Their incredible work and creative approach to delivering services are why we continue to succeed and entice new businesses to work with us. We cannot wait to find out whether we have won later this year.”

The team will find out whether they have been successful at an awards ceremony due to be held at The Brewery London on 12 September 2019.

Dan added: “We are delighted that the judges at this year’s awards have selected us from so many other practices across the UK.

“Our innovative approach is what sets us apart from others and we are very proud of what we have managed to achieve for our clients and the profession.”

Thorne Widgery is still on a high after recently winning an award at British Accounting Marketing Awards in early May.
