Thorne Widgery – winner of Xero’s “Accounting Partner of the Year” award for England West 2015
As one of, if not THE fastest growing accounting software package in the UK, any award from Xero is not to be sniffed at and so to win their “Accounting Partner of the Year 2015” award for England West is a real feather in our cap.
To be recognised by a business that itself has made huge progress in recent years by giving its customers what they want – something that makes running a business so much easier – we think this award is a reflection on our efforts to deliver relevant, proactive customer service.
We think Xero is a brilliant tool for helping business owners run their own businesses more effectively (so much so we use it ourselves) – but when we take the functionality of Xero (and their add on partners) and combine it with our own proactive approach to business advice and tax planning, we think the combination is difficult to beat.
Needless to say we are going to rest on our laurels – to us winning the award simply means we are on the right track – it won’t stop us trying even harder to deliver an even better service.
Hereford accountants are chosen by their peers in the UK’s Accounting Firm of the Year Awards
In October, at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, in front of 349 fellow accountants from across the whole of the UK, Hereford based Thorne Widgery were named as the 2008/9 UK Accounting Firm of The Year runners up.
The Award, sponsored by AVN, is the only one of its kind where the winners are chosen by a panel of fellow accountants. Explaining their success, AVN’s Chairman Steve Pipe said:
“Thorne Widgery are blazing a trail for other accountants to follow. Even in the face of the recession their proactive approach is helping their clients to grow, to create jobs and to become more successful. And as a result they are redefining what businesses should expect from their accountants.”
After their Award success Thorne Widgery managing director Stephen Smallwood said:
“AVN works with over 340 firms of accountants across the UK encouraging them to be increasingly proactive with their clients with a view to strengthening relationships and adding real value.
Their ethos is that accountants should be doing much more than just “crunching the numbers,” they should be helping their clients become more successful, more profitable and enjoy what they do much, much more.
Against that background, we are delighted with this award. It confirms that we are on the right track to give our clients what they really want, a team of proactive accountants that genuinely care about helping their clients. Times ahead are going to be tough and we want our clients to know that we will be seeking to support them in meeting the challenges that they will inevitably face over the coming months.”
