Alison Smallwood, Finance DirectorAlison provides payroll bureau services to a number of our clients. These services are designed to remove the burden of calculating the monthly payroll and allow our clients to get on with growing their businesses. 
Andy Edwards, ACIB, Business Development SpecialistAndy joined Thorne Widgery in 2006, after 25 years working in the Corporate Division of Barclays Bank. An expert in business development, Andy manages our business services and is always coming up with new initiatives to help clients grow their businesses. 
Daniel Crowther, FCCA, MAAT, DirectorDan joined Thorne Widgery in 2001 and has recently become a Director at the company. He manages a varied portfolio, from large commercial clients to business start-ups, and advises clients on tax efficient strategies that will reduce their tax burden. He is also an expert on accounting packages, including the cloud-based programme, Xero, and advises clients on the best accounting systems to suit their business. 
Daniel Hardy, Trainee Accountantdaniel.hardy@thornewidgery.co.uk Daniel joined the company after completing a degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of Southampton. As a Trainee Accountant, Daniel’s role involves creating client accounts, whilst working towards his ACCA Chartered Accountant qualification. 
Debs Coles, Practice Managerdebs.coles@thornewidgery.co.uk Debs is an expert in business development and her primary role is to manage and improve our customer journey, building longstanding relationships with new and loyal clients. She also coordinates the team’s marketing activities and is continually looking for opportunities to add value to our services. 
Elaine Hussey, Payroll ManagerElaine joined the company in 2006 and is responsible for coordinating our clients’ payroll on a weekly, fortnightly and monthly basis, as well as processing their year-end paperwork. She is also the first point of contact for all payroll related queries. 
Francesca Goodin, AAT, Senior Accounts Technicianfrancesca.goodin@thornewidgery.co.uk Francesca has successfully completed her AAT and is currently working towards her ACCA Chartered Accountant qualification. Her role within the company includes the preparation and review of client accounts, as well as assisting the Audit Department and training junior members of the team. 
Harry West, MAAT, Accounts TechnicianSince joining Thorne Widgery in 2009, Harry has completed his MAAT qualification and is currently working towards his ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification. He also recently became Herefordshire Apprentice of the Year, 2011. Harry’s role within the accounts team involves preparing accounts and completing company secretarial work on behalf of clients. 
Hayden Russell, AAT, FCCA, BA (Hons) Economics, Tax ManagerHayden is a fully qualified accountant who joined Thorne Widgery in 2006. As well as assisting in the day-to-day running of the Tax Department, Hayden handles all of our clients’ tax enquiries, specialising in personal and corporate tax. 
Jan Stephens, PA to Kevin Tong and ReceptionistJan is a longstanding member of the team and is often the first point of contact for our clients. As well as being involved in the day-to-day running of reception, Jan is also Kevin Tong’s PA and in charge of organising his diary. 
Jodie Harris, Trainee Administration Assistantjodie.harris@thornewidgery.co.uk Jodie provides administrative support to the Thorne Widgery team. Jodie also provides relief Reception cover and is responsible for the company’s internal filing system. Jodie is currently training as a touch typist. 
Kaylee Knox, Research and Systems Analystkaylee.knox@thornewidgery.co.uk Kaylee joined Thorne Widgery in 2009 and her primary focus is on monitoring and improving the company’s internal systems. In addition, she is responsible for research and data analysis, as well as general bookkeeping duties. 
Kevin Tong, FCCA, DirectorKevin has over 20 years experience providing financial business advice to companies across the Agriculture, Non-profit and Corporate sectors, as well as to individual clients. Kevin loves to see his clients prosper and is always looking for ways to maximise tax benefits and other business opportunities. 
Kirsty McKenna, MAAT, Accounts Technician & Payroll Assistantkirsty.mckenna@thornewidgery.co.uk Kirsty joined the team in 2008 and is currently working towards her Chartered Accountant qualification. Her role involves preparing accounts for clients and providing support to the rest of the accounting team. 
Lisa Foligno, Administration and Credit ControlLisa joined the company in 2008 and has over 10 years experience in Credit Control. Her key role is to collect outstanding payments for the company, as well as assisting with general administration. 
Lizzie Roberts, AAT, Trainee Accountantelizabeth.roberts@thornewidgery.co.uk Lizzie joined the company in 2010 and works within the accounts team, whilst also studying towards her AAT level 4 qualification. As well as general accounting duties, Lizzie also provides support to Elaine in the Payroll Department. 
Lucy Bennion, Agricultural Client Managerlucy.bennion@thornewidgery.co.uk Lucy joined Thorne Widgery after successfully completing her BSc (Hons) in Rural Land Management at the Royal Agricultural College. Growing up in a farming family has given Lucy an in-depth knowledge of the farming industry, and she keeps our clients up-to-date on new agricultural schemes and projects. 
Martin Barry, Estate Planning Consultant
Martin recently joined the team on a consultancy basis, as our in-house Estate Planning expert. With over 20 years experience in Estate Planning, Martin understands the individual needs of our clients and works closely with them to plan for the future. 
Martin Davies, DirectorMartin has been with the Company for over 20 years, providing effective accounting and tax advice to clients in the corporate sector and taking care of their statutory and compliance requirements. As a Director, he is also a valuable member of the Senior Management Team. 
Neil Sheehan, MAAT, ACCA, Audit and Accounts ManagerNeil recently obtained his ACCA Chartered Accountant qualification and has been appointed a Manager at the company. He is responsible for the statutory and management accounts of large corporate clients, as well as servicing the needs of his own client portfolio. As a certified Xero advisor, Neil also provides clients with valuable training and support in computerised accounts packages. 
Penny Griffiths, AAT, Accounts Technicianpenny.griffiths@thornewidgery.co.uk Penny is a long-serving member of the company and provides support for our accounting team. Day to day, Penny is responsible for processing client accounts and VAT returns, as well as handling general client enquiries. 
Peter Lewis, FCA, FCCA, DirectorAn expert on VAT for nearly 40 years, Peter is adept at helping clients understand how their actions can influence their VAT position and offering strategic advice. He works closely with the rest of the management team to develop new services and enhance our customer offering. 
Rebecca Matthews, Accounts/Tax Juniorrebecca.matthews@thornewidgery.co.uk Rebecca joined the company in 2010 to work as a trainee accountant whilst studying for her AAT Level 4 qualification. Her role involves preparing VAT returns and processing client accounts and tax returns. 
Sara McKee, PA to Stephen Smallwood, HR Manager and Admin Team LeaderSara’s job is to make Stephen’s working day as MD flow as smoothly and efficiently as possible. As a member of the Thorne Widgery team for over 20 years, Sara has extensive knowledge of the organization, which helps her fulfill her responsibilities as HR Manager and Admin Team Leader. 
Sarah Jenkins, MAAT, Accounts Techniciansarah.jenkins@thornewidgery.co.uk Since joining the company in 2010, Sarah has successfully completed her AAT and is currently working towards her ACCA Chartered Accountant qualification. Sarah assists with accounts preparation, files VAT returns and undertakes audit field work for clients in the charity and corporate sectors. 
Scott Davies, Accounts Juniorscott.davies@thornewidgery.co.uk Scott joined the company in July 2007 and is currently studying towards his Chartered Accountant qualification. Day to day, Scott is busy producing accounts, reviewing VAT returns and handling company secretarial issues. He is also a certified Xero advisor and runs training sessions on the system for our clients.

Stephen Smallwood, Managing DirectorAs Managing Director of Thorne Widgery, Stephen heads up the Senior Management Team and sets out the general direction of the company. He has vast experience across a broad range of sectors and has implemented a number of successful initiatives to address our clients’ business and financial challenges. 
Vanda Williams, BSc, ACA, CTA, Tax DirectorVanda joined Thorne Widgery over 25 years ago and has worked at every level within the Tax Department. An expert on tax and estate matters, Vanda has become a trusted source of advice for our clients, specialising in trusts and personal tax. |
